Coloring ballet slippers?

I would like to dye my daughters pink ballet slippers to black. Is this possiable. The material appears to be leather.

Coloring ballet slippers?
Yes, buy a product called%26quot; colour change.%26quot; It comes with easy to follow instructions and is very effective. Some supermarkets sell it but if not shoe shops have it or Mr Fixit type stands
Reply:yes u can in ballet stores they sell speciaƱ painting for them
Reply:I am a ballet dancer and I what I do i spray paint my pointes, I wouldn%26#039;t dye cuz it maybe would come off easily. =)
Reply:I had to do this recently except to jazz shoes but I think they are made out of the same kind of leather as ballet slippers.

I went to a shoe repair place and bought a solution that is made specifically for preparing leather before you dye it. This was very easy; you just wipe it on and wait for it to dry but make sure you follow the directions for the brand you buy. It is very strong smelling stuff and you have to use it in a well ventilated area. After this step I applied black shoe dye on top of the beige shoe, waited for it to dry, shined them up a bit and voila, ready to wear.
Reply:I spray paint them and then let them dry a day or two. If you don%26#039;t want to take the chance, you can always take it into a dance shop.
Reply:my old ballet teacher, when she would want our slippers to match our costume, she would actually spray paint %26#039;em. i know, sounds silly, but it works. just spray paint them and they will stay that way. i still have my first pair of ballet slippers that were spray painted red and they are still gleming to this day....just a bit raggid of course.
Reply:hi. i%26#039;m a ballet dancer by profession and i%26#039;ve seen some of our ladies coloring their shoes using permamnent markers... it%26#039;ll be slow going but it might be worth it because you won%26#039;t lose the suppleness of the shoe taht much as when you paint them. just a suggestion.
